Fully removing Office 2003

Office 2003 will leave lots of remnants behind which can cause future versions of office to not function correctly, especially with MAPI and outlook 2003. Follow this to ensure all of Office 2003 is removed. 
1.  Uninstall Office 2003 using Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel
2.  Click Start menu-> Run, type
“regedit” (without the quotation marks) in the Open box and press Enter.
3.  Back up and Delete the following registry keys if they exist:
          (Note:  ‘#’ represents any number {0-9, A-F})

          HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTInstallerProducts904###0900063D11C8EF10054038389C
          HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTInstallerFeatures904###0900063D11C8EF10054038389C
          HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTInstallerPatches
          HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInstallerComponents
          HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInstallerFeatures904###0900063D11C8EF10054038389C
          HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInstallerProducts904###0900063D11C8EF10054038389C
          HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInstallerPatches
          HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice

4. Quit the Registry Editor.
5. Delete or rename the following folders if they exist:
     C:Program FilesMicrosoft Office
     C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedOffice9
     C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedOffice10
     C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedOFFICE11
     C:Documents and Settings<UserName>Application DataMicrosoftOffice
     C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftOffice
     C:Program FilesOfficeUpdate
     C:Program FilesOfficeUpdate11

6. To remove MAPI, search for and rename the following files/folders if they exist:
     C:Windowssystem32mapi32.dll
     C:Windowssystem32mapisvc.inf
     C:Program FilesCommon FilesSystemMsmapi
     C:Program FilesCommon FilesSystemMapi

7. Click Start->Run, type
“%Temp%” (without the quotation marks) in the Open box and press Enter,
delete everthing in the %Temp% folder.
8.  Empty the Recycle Bin.
9.  Restart your computer and then install office 2003
